Wedding Ceremonies

My greatest good fortune in a life of brilliant experiences
has been to find you, and to lead my life with you.

A Wedding Ceremony Designed Just for You!   Rituals and ceremonies are intended to celebrate special occasions and to help us focus and set our intention for the future. A wedding ceremony is a life passage like no other; a rite that binds two people together through their love and commitment to each other. The ceremony is steeped in centuries of spiritual tradition and as such should reflect you; your spirituality; your unique love story; and your plans for a future together as a married couple.

I have a deep passion and gift for creating wedding ceremonies that are perfect for the couples I serve. I combine my creativity, education and experience with your life history and story, your culture, heritage, loving relationship, spirituality and hopes & dreams for your future. The result is a wedding ceremony that uniquely reflects you as a couple; an event that you and your guests will remember for the rest of your life.

Here are a few comments from the couples and families I have served:

“… thank you for the very special wedding ceremony for my granddaughter…
service was so meaningful, loving and just wonderful!”

“… cannot thank you enough for doing such a wonderful job creating the perfect ceremony!
It was exactly what we wanted …”

Funerals and Life Celebrations

Grieving is like having broken ribs. On the outside you look fine but with every breath, it hurts.
— Unknown

Because of longer life expectancy and advances in medical technology you may find yourself faced with the need to plan a remembrance ceremony without ever having attended a funeral or memorial service or life celebrations. Rituals to mark the end of life, as a result, may be uncomfortable for you; may appear frightening to plan; and may seem daunting especially when you are in the midst of your grief.

End of life rituals and ceremonies are intended to support you in the grieving process as you honor and celebrate the life of your loved one. These services have a long secular and religious history and can be crafted to reflect both the life and spirit of your loved one as well as to provide grief support for you, your family and your friends.

I bring training, experience and my ability to listen deeply and compassionately as I guide, assist and support you through the process of planning an end of life ritual; a secular or religious gathering; a ceremony that honors, remembers and reflects the life of your loved one. I will provide you with a framework for your loved one’s service based on conversations with you and your family and will officiate at the time and place you have selected.  I will guide you in decisions about the Eulogy or remembrance for the service, including writing and reading this remembrance on your behalf. I will offer suggestions for elements of the service including but not limited to your selections of music, poems, readings and rituals to create a beautiful service of remembrance.

Other Rituals and Ceremonies

We are the ones who can do ritual, who can praise,
who can remember, who can celebrate an infinite number of sacred moments in our lives and in the lifetimes of our universe.
— Matthew Fox

When we think about rituals and ceremonies, what comes most easily to mind are weddings, birthdays, graduations and funerals. Yet every event in life is an opportunity for celebration; for gathering with friends and family; for sharing stories that bring meaning to our lives.  Whether religious or secular, formal or casual, large or small gatherings, rituals mark any life event that has significance for you.

Here are a few life events you may wish to recognize with ceremony and ritual:

  • Baby naming, baptism, blessing

  • Retirement

  • Divorce

  • Medical crisis

  • Milestone birthdays, Elder status

  • Home blessing

  • Clearing and cleansing rituals

  • Seasonal events such equinox, solstice, new year

  • Pet blessings and memorials

I bring my training, experience and creative nature to all the rituals and ceremonies I craft. My aim is to create the ceremony you desire, reflecting your vision, your values and your hope for this most important milestone in your life.
